Who I am..
Therapy was never my aim when I completed my Master of Social Work degree. I saw myself working with deeply marginalized populations that are easily written off or overlooked. With the pandemic came a mental health crisis and I love to answer a call for a need. So off I went, into private practice, and guess what? Serendipity!! I love this work and feel so blessed that I get to focus energy and time on learning for this practice.
I hope clients sense my felicity of being present with them when in pain, numbness, joy, or even rage. I am honored to sit with my clients in vulnerability. Recognizing the depth of seriousness while allowing for humor, recognizing the absurd, and breathing in together that life can also be hilarious.
My background and previous experience consists of case management, skilled nursing social work, working alongside first responders, and supporting adults with developmental disabilities. I completed one graduate internship with the Bellevue Fire Department CARES program. It was a privilege to work with first responders, and be invited into people’s homes as a representative of the local government caring about its community. I also interned with Bethany of the Northwest, a skilled nursing and long term care facility. I sat with patients and their families as they contended with the transition of life altering sicknesses and injuries. Outside of that, for many years I worked with adults with developmental disabilities in a residential facility and as a case manager in the community. These special relationships taught me that we all struggle in different ways and that can be what unites us as well as inspire compassion for ourselves and others.
I have advanced training and mentorship in Internal Family Systems and complex trauma training allowing me to hold space for both a traumatic past and hopeful future.
When I am not working I am biking, doing yoga, going on urban hikes, reading, dancing, entertaining and being entertained by my dog and spending time with friends and family.
